ABSTRACTIn this study, the new amphipod superfamily Protodulichioidea and family Protodulichiidae are established. Both belong to the infraorder Corophiida but is different from all known superfamilies and families. Amphipods included in the new superfamily and family are characterised by having a triangular head with large eyes, extremely long pereopod 7, and uropod 3 with a short peduncle and slender rami bearing a few robust setae. Sulfhydryl compounds such as reduced glutathione, cysteine and 2-mercaptopropionylglycine, a hepato-protective agent, activated Cu, Zn-superoxide dismutase purified from rat liver at low concentrations (below 10 microM). Furthermore we found evidence indicating that this activation is achieved by reducing Cu2+ present in the catalytic site of the dismutase, and thereby promoting the dismutation of superoxide anions. 相似文献

The sponge Dysidea herbacea (Keller) was found to possess hemagglutinins. The major component, DHA-I, is a protein with a mol. wt of 26,000, which dissociates into subunits of equal size (14,000). It contains large amounts of glutamic acid and aspartic acid residues, but no half-cystine, methionine or histidine residues. DHA-I reacted with rabbit and human AB0 erythrocytes. D-galactose and lactose were effective inhibitors of DHA-I. The sponge also contained a minor component(s) which reacted preferentially with rabbit erythrocytes but not with human AB0 erythrocytes. 相似文献

分析不同放牧期内蒙古绒山羊瘤胃中甲烷细菌的种群组成.选取甲烷菌mcrA基因的特异性引物序列,对瘤胃液中提取的细菌总DNA进行PCR扩增,建立甲烷细菌特异性的mcrA基因文库.用限制性内切酶TapⅠ对该文库特异性片段进行限制性内切片段长度多态性分析(RFLP).结果表明牧草生长幼嫩期、旺盛期和枯草期随机挑选的特异性克隆片段分别为115、105和112,分成6个RFLP类型,每期的不同类型占了所有分析克隆子的比例分别为36%、28%、20%、3.5%、3.5%和9%;38%、27%、18%、7%、5.5%和4.5%;35%、24%、18%、6.5%、3%和13.5%. 相似文献

Zusammenfassung Der Lethalfaktor von Submandibulardrüsen-Transplantaten wurde bei Mäusen verschiedener Mutanten, C3H, CBA, BALB/c und C57BL, beobachtet. Die Intensität des Lethalfaktors war am stärksten in Transplantaten von BALB/c Mäusen und am geringsten in denen von C3H Mäusen. Die C57BL-Variante war am anfälligsten für den Lethalfaktor. 相似文献

Surfactant-mediated synthesis strategies are widely used to fabricate ordered mesoporous solids in the form of metal oxides, metals, carbon and hybrid organosilicas. These materials have amorphous pore walls, which could limit their practical utility. In the case of mesoporous metal oxides, efforts to crystallize the framework structure by thermal and hydrothermal treatments have resulted in crystallization of only a fraction of the pore walls. Here we report the surfactant-mediated synthesis of an ordered benzene-silica hybrid material; this material has an hexagonal array of mesopores with a lattice constant of 52.5 A, and crystal-like pore walls that exhibit structural periodicity with a spacing of 7.6 A along the channel direction. The periodic pore surface structure results from alternating hydrophilic and hydrophobic layers, composed of silica and benzene, respectively. We believe that this material is formed as a result of structure-directing interactions between the benzene-silica precursor molecules, and between the precursor molecules and the surfactants. We expect that other organosilicas and organo-metal oxides can be produced in a similar fashion, to yield a range of hierarchically ordered mesoporous solids with molecular-scale pore surface periodicity. 相似文献

Mitochondria play an important role in energy production, Ca2+ homeostasis and cell death. In recent years, the role of the mitochondria in apoptotic and necrotic cell death has attracted much attention. In apoptosis and necrosis, the mitochondrial permeability transition (mPT), which leads to disruption of the mitochondrial membranes and mitochondrial dysfunction, is considered to be one of the key events, although its exact role in cell death remains elusive. We therefore created mice lacking cyclophilin D (CypD), a protein considered to be involved in the mPT, to analyse its role in cell death. CypD-deficient mice were developmentally normal and showed no apparent anomalies, but CypD-deficient mitochondria did not undergo the cyclosporin A-sensitive mPT. CypD-deficient cells died normally in response to various apoptotic stimuli, but showed resistance to necrotic cell death induced by reactive oxygen species and Ca2+ overload. In addition, CypD-deficient mice showed a high level of resistance to ischaemia/reperfusion-induced cardiac injury. Our results indicate that the CypD-dependent mPT regulates some forms of necrotic death, but not apoptotic death. 相似文献

The genome of Aspergillus oryzae, a fungus important for the production of traditional fermented foods and beverages in Japan, has been sequenced. The ability to secrete large amounts of proteins and the development of a transformation system have facilitated the use of A. oryzae in modern biotechnology. Although both A. oryzae and Aspergillus flavus belong to the section Flavi of the subgenus Circumdati of Aspergillus, A. oryzae, unlike A. flavus, does not produce aflatoxin, and its long history of use in the food industry has proved its safety. Here we show that the 37-megabase (Mb) genome of A. oryzae contains 12,074 genes and is expanded by 7-9 Mb in comparison with the genomes of Aspergillus nidulans and Aspergillus fumigatus. Comparison of the three aspergilli species revealed the presence of syntenic blocks and A. oryzae-specific blocks (lacking synteny with A. nidulans and A. fumigatus) in a mosaic manner throughout the genome of A. oryzae. The blocks of A. oryzae-specific sequence are enriched for genes involved in metabolism, particularly those for the synthesis of secondary metabolites. Specific expansion of genes for secretory hydrolytic enzymes, amino acid metabolism and amino acid/sugar uptake transporters supports the idea that A. oryzae is an ideal microorganism for fermentation. 相似文献
