文章依据符号学原理对“能指”和“所指”关系的分析，结合设计的实际案例，指出设计符号“能指”和“所指”关系具有硬性规定、任意性、稳定性和统一性。运用符号学的观点与方法为设计研究开拓出新的空间，并为设计提供一种理论资源和思考方法。

On Relationship of Signifier and Signified in Symbol Design

Many techniques widely applied in the design come from principle of Semiology. Based on design theory and practical cases, this paper analyses the relationship between signifier and signified of symbols, pointing out the properties including rigid regulation, arbitrariness, stability and unity. By applying theories and approaches of Semiology, the paper offers a new space for design research.
