Compliments and Compliment Responses

Compliments and compliment responses have attracted a lot of attention from both of the fields of intercultural communication and pragrnatics. This paper makes a literature review of Chinese and western scholars＇ research on compliments＇ functions, linguistic features, content and responses, and finally puts forward its significance.
