Hippocampus＇s role in forming ＂task-related＂ associations： Flashing to the things you are looking for

Eichenbaum and colleagues observed that the same place did or did not activate the ＂goal-approach＂ cells in hippocampus depending on whether the place was the way for rats to approach specific goal. Parallel with this, the present neuroimage study revealed that, the same type of items could activate the hippocampus more when it was related to the task at hand than when it not. Participants were scanned by fMRI while they made judgments on the type of relationships contained in the word-pairs （e.g., Does the word pair, ＂furniture-table＂, contain a ＂category-exemplar＂ relationship？）. Event-related analysis revealed that the forming of ＂task-related＂ association activated hippocampus more than that of ＂task-unrelated＂, even if it was the same type of items, and, this hippocampal difference was not caused by the different judgment requirements, nor by the effects of ＂yes＂ response. Consistently, the post-judgment cued-recall test exhibited a better retrieval performance for ＂task-related＂ associations than for the same type but ＂task-unrelated＂ associations. Results also showed that, the semantic relatedness between the to-be-associated individual words （e.g., the related word pair ＂healthy-hospital＂ versus the unrelated word pair ＂price-way＂） was not enough to activate the hippocampus when it was ＂task-unrelated＂. Generally, we proposed that, through participating in forming of ＂task-related＂ associations and consolidating of episodic memory, hippocampus enabled the organism to keep the information that owned great survival values in mind for future usage.

Coolmax织物湿舒适性能的灰色聚类分析

对Coolmax织物、棉、涤纶、涤棉织物的芯吸效应、保水率、干燥率、透湿性、透气性进行了测试分析；并通过人体穿着试验对服装的湿舒适性进行了评价；最后利用灰色聚类分析对6种织物的湿舒适性能做了综合评价。结果表明：Coolmax织物的湿舒适性能优于普通涤纶、棉、涤棉织物；客观试验与主观穿着试验的结果具有较好的一致性。     

轻薄型羊毛机织面料的舒适性研究

通过人工气候条件下的人体穿着试验，对轻薄型羊毛机织面料的舒适性进行了研究。结果表明，在制作贴身穿着服装时，轻薄型羊毛机织面料的总体舒适感不及蚕丝、棉及涤棉等面料，主要原因是其存在刺痒感.同时还表明，面料的柔软度是影响贴身穿着服装的总体舒适感的非常重要的因素。     

Factors Influencing Anti-ultraviolet Performance of Undyed-woven Fabrics

Main factors influencing anti-ultraviolet performance of woven fabrics are investigated. By means of detailed arrangement of sample design, sample making, testing and analyzing, it shows that fiber materials, fabric compactness, fabric weave and yarn type are the four important factors influencing anti-UV performance of woven fabric, but with different effects. Among them fiber material is the most important factor. For the common fiber materials used, it shows that the anti-UV performance of polyester is comparatively better than others. Once fiber material is determined, fabric with medium float weave and high compactness can offer a good anti-UV performance. The anti-UV performance of fabric with ＂anti-UV＂ filament yarn is better than that with ＂anti-UV＂ staple yarn. The anti-UV property of fabrics with untwisted filament yams is better than that with twist counterparts.     

Comfort of Light-weight Wool and Wool Blend Woven Fabrics

The comfort of the light-weight woven fabrics was investigated by conducting the wear trials under the controlled climatic conditions. The wear trial under the neutral environmental conditions showed that the lightweight wool and wool blend fabrics are generally less comfortable than the silk fabric, cotton poplin and polyester/cotton poplin fabrics tested in this study. The main shortcoming in terms of comfort for these lightweight wool fabrics is the prickle. Besides, the fabric softness was found to be a very important factor influencing the comfort of the clothing worn next to the skin.     

Effect of Fabric Elongation on the Making Up of Pressure Garments

Pressure garments are widely used in Hong Kong andmany other countries for burn rehabilitation.Thesegarments are mainly made of elastic Lycra fabrics andtailor-made to individual patient's measurement toprovide an appropriate amount of skin-garment in-terface pressure for medical treatment.However,thefabric tension would be reduced due to fabric elonga-tion under prolonged period of stress,and thus theskin-garment interface pressure cannot be main-tained after repeated use of the garment.This paperaims to study the behaviour of fabric elongation of thefabrics commonly used for making pressure garmentsin U.K.and/or Hong Kong.Attempts to correct theexisting practice of drafting the pressure garments forproviding a more effective clinical treatment.     

THE EFFECT OF, ABRASION ON LOW STRESS MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF FABRIC

The low stress mechanical properties of a pure wool and a wool / polyester blend twill fab-rics which were abraded at various abrasion cycles were measured using the KES-F system andthe Instron tensile machine. The surface change of fabrics before and after abrasion was stu-died by means of scanning electron microscope. With the increasing number of cycles, the re-covery behavior of the fabrics studied in tensile, shear and bending deformation decrease, theantibuckling ability lowers, the friction coefficient increases. The geometric roughness de-creases during the first step of abrasion then enhances with further abrasion. The influence ofabrasion on mechanical properties of the pure wool fabric are larger than that of blend fabric.     

夏季服装面料的舒适性研究

通过人工气倏条件下的人体穿着试验，探讨了出汗对夏季服装面料舒适性的影响。研究表明在人体没有出汗的条件下，柔软度是影响夏季服装面料舒适性的主要因素。在人体出汗的条件下，服装面料的舒适性普遍降低，其中涤纶面料的舒适性降低最为显著，主要原因是由于涤纶纤维的吸湿性差。     

高膨松性非织造布的加工方法和产品性能的分析比较

本文对三利,不同粘合加固纤维网方法(乳液喷洒法,双组分低熔点纤维和热熔粉末粘合法)所制得的高膨松非织造布的性能进行了测试,并对各生产过程特点和产品性能逆行了比较。在高膨松性非织造布的体积密度范围内,有空气对流传热机理存在。导热系数随体积密度增加而降低,在单位面积重量相同条件下,膨松度高的非织造布。织物表现厚度大,虽然导热系数高,但织物传热量较低,其绝热保暖性好。
