Substitution reactions of 5-(4-nitrophenyl)-10, 15,20-triphenylporphyrin (NO2 TPP) and its metal complexes with different nucleophilic reagents were studied for preparing asymmetric porphyrin. The reaction products are different with the nucleophilic reagents changing, and three different products were found. The first obtaining product was diporphyrin when NO2 TPP reacted with sodium phenoxide or diphenoxide in DMF solution; The second was reduced product 5-(4-aminophenyl)-10, 15, 20-triphenylporphrin-M (Ⅱ) when the metal (Ni,Zn) complex of NO2 TPP reacted with above nucleophilic reagents, as well as NO2 TPP reacted with lithium mercaptoethanolate or lithium thiophenolate; The third product CNTPP was achieved with the substitution of nitro group by cyanic anion when NO2 TPP reacted with radium cyanide. It is studied that Rhus vernicifera laccase catalyzed oxidation of 26 disubstituted ferrocene and its metal complexes, π-arene-π-cyclopentadienyliron
derivatives and metal meso-(tetra-4-sulfanatophenyl)porphyrin in the diethylene glycol monobutyl ether (DGBE)/phosphate buffer
(V/V, 1/5). It is found that 1,1′-bishydroxylmethyl ferrocene etc 16 compounds are new substrates of laccase. The relation of
structure and function of substrates is discussed. The affective factors of laccase-catalyzed oxidation of 1,1′-bishydroxyl-methyl
ferrocene—pH, temperature, substrate concentration, laccase quantity and surfactant were investigated further.

A series of 2-nitro-5, 10, 15, 20-tetra (4-methoxyphenyl) porphyrinato metals were regioselectively synthesized with nitrate
salts as nitrating reagent in acetic acid/acetic anhydride for preparation of 2-substituted porphyrin. The influence of nitrate
salts and complex metal ion to the reaction were investigated. The extent of 2-nitration increased with the electronegativity
of the central metal. When Cu(NO3)2×3H2O was used as nitrating reagent, almost quantitative yields of 2-nitro porphyrin were obtained in the case of Cu (II) or Ni
(II) chelates, while Zn(II) or Mn(II) chelates gave 50% and 30% yields respectively. If Zn(NO3)2×10H2O was used as nitrating agent, no product was found for Cu(II) or Ni(II) chelates, 12% was found for Zn(II) chelates. The
other metal ion and nitrate salts were also found in quite different influence.

The reaction of 5-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenyl porphyrin with 2,6-dibromomethylpyridine and 4,4‘-dicarboxyl-2,2‘-bipyridine respectively gave 2,6-bis-[5,10,15-triphenyl-20-( 4-phenoxymethyl )-porphyrin-yl]-pyridine(3) and 4, 4‘-di-[5,10,15-triphenyl-20-( p-phenoxycarbonyl)-porphyrin-yl]-2,2‘-bipyridine (4). 5-[4-(4‘- Bromobutoxy) phenyl]-10, 15, 20-triphenyl porphyrin reacted with 2,6-dihydroxymethyl pyridine to give 2,6-bis-[5,10,15-triphenyl- 20-(4-(p-phenoxy)-butoxymethyl)-porphyrin-yl]-pyridine(5). The synthesis and characterization of a series of metal porphyrins, MII(Por), {Por=dianionic of 5, 10, 15, 20-tetrakis [4-(4′-bromobutyloxy) phenyl]porphyrinato and 5, 10, 15, 20-tetrakis [4-(4′-butyloxypyridine
bromide)phenyl]porphyrinato, M=Zn, Cu, Mn, Co, Ni, Ru-CO} were described. The complexes 3a-3e were prepared from the reactions
of compound 2 with metal acetates in chloroform, and the treatment of 3a-3f with excess of pyridine gave corresponding complexes
4a-4f. These new compounds were identified by absorption spectroscopies,1H-NMR and elemental analyses. The results of biological activity testing for 4a-4f revealed that 4a and 4c had stronger inhibiting
action on the growth metabolism ofEsche richia coli.

Six new aminocarboxylic ligands were synthesized by reactions of EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) dianhydride or DTPA
(diethylenetriaminepenta—acetic acid) dianhydride and ethyl ester of serine, threonine and tyrosine. Their paramagnetic metal
complexes were also synthesized. All ligands and paramagnetic metal complexes were characterized by IR spectra,1H NMR and elemental analyses. Relaxivity study showed that the metal complexes had higher relaxation effectiveness as compared
to corresponding unmodified metal complexes. Imaging study of gadolinium complex of tyrosine ethyl ester modified DTPA in
mice demonstrated that this metal complex could apparently increase the signal intensity of MR images.

Five complexes ([Cu(tpc)]2+ 1, [Cu(tpa)]2+ 2, [Co(tpa)]2+ 3, [Fe(tpa)]2+ 4 and [Mn(tpa)]2+ 5) (tpc=N, N’, N"-tris[(2-pyridyl)methyl]-1,4,7-triaza-cyclononane(L1) and tpa=tris[2-((2-pyridyl) methyl-imino)ethyl]amine(l2))
were synthesized and characterized. The crystal structures of 1, 3 and 4 were determined by X-ray crystallography. Electrochemical
investigations over two cupric complexes reveal that 2 has a less negative redox potential than that of 1. Electronic spectra
of 2, 3, 4 and 5 show that the distinction in metal ion results in a shift of the ligand-based π*→π transition.

Electrochemical behavior of a carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with nickel(II)-5, 11, 17, 23-tetra-tert-butyl-25, 27-bis(diethylcarbamoylmethoxy)
calix[4]arene (Ni (II)-L) complex and its electrocatalytic activity towards the oxidation of hydrogen peroxide were investigated
by cyclic voltammetric technique in a 5.0×10−2 mol/L NaClO4+1.0×10−3 mol/L NaOH solution. It was found that Ni(II)-L acts as an effective catalyst for the oxidation of hydrogen peroxide. The
modified electrode exhibited a linear response over a hydrogen peroxide concentrations in the range of 2.0×10−5−1.0×10−4 mol/L with a detection limit as low as 1.0×10−6 mol/L. The relative standard deviation was 3.5% for 5 successive determinations of H2O2 at 1.0×10−5 mol/L. The modified electrode was used successfully in rainwater analysis.

The reaction of 5, 10, 15, 20-tetra-(4-pyridyl) porphyrin 1 with triruthenium dodecacarbonyl [Ru3(CO)12], zinc(II) acetate, copper(II) acetate, cobalt(II) acetate afforded complexes 2a−2d respectively. Treatment of 2a−2d with
Merrifield’s peptide resin obtained 3a−3d. The compounds 3a−3d reacted with methyl iodide respectively gave 4a−4d. New complexes
4a−4d have been identified by IR, UV-visible spectra, and AES.

A new type of calix[4]arenes containing amino acid ester derivatives has been synthesized. Their1H NMR characteristics are discussed. Metal ion extraction experimental has shown that calix[4]arene amino acid esters (2a,

A novel anion receptor 2 bearing anthracene flurophore and thiourea was synthesized and identified by ^1H NMR,MS,IR and elemental analysis. The interaction between receptor 2 and various α,ω-dicarboxylate anions was studied by fluorescence spectrum. The obtained fluorescence data indicate that 1:1 stoichiometry complex is formed between receptor 2 with diferent dicarboxylate anions through a hydrogen-bonging interaction. Reaction of Ru (4-Cl-TPP) (CO) (MeOH) [4-Cl-TPP = meso-kis (4-chlorophenyl) porphyrinato dianion] with 3-chloroperoxybenzoic
acid (m-CPBA) followed by treatment of the mixture with an aqueous ammonia solution afforded the first nitrido ruthenium porphyrin
Ru(4-Cl-TPP) (N) (OH). Three new nitrido osmium (VI) porphyrins, Os (Por) (N) (OH) (Por=TPP, TTP, and 4-Cl-TPP), were synthesized
from oxidation of Os(Por)(NH3)2 withm-CPBA. All these new complexes were characterized by1H NMR, IR, UV/Visible spectra and elemental analyses. Both nitrido ruthenium (VI) and osmium (VI) porphyrins are diamagnetic.
Their pyrrole proton resonances appear at slightly lower fields than those of the corresponding dioxo Ru(VI) and Os(VI) porphyrins.
The {ie89-1}, or {ie89-2}, region is obscured by the strong “oxidation state marker” band.
