| 摘 要： | 本文对中国现阶段英语教学中如何培养交际能力这一问题进行了初步的探讨。笔者认为，英语教学的根本目的在于培养学生的实际交际能力。在英语教学过程中，应把强调英语用法（usage）的直接法与强调英语使用（use）的交际法结合起来，综合应用，既强调扎实的语法基础，又强调学用结合，培养实际交际能力，进一步提高英语教学质量与学生的英语水平。
