An Approach to Embedding Case Based Reasoning in CAPP Systems |

| Abstract: | An approach to embedding case based reasoning in CAPP expert systems is described. To existing CAPP expert systems, the solving mechanism for problems of case based reasoning is added, and a new system with self learning ability is generated. It is capable of carrying out technological design of new parts and components using the technological documents developed. The principle of case retrieval with minimum design workload is proposed. From the point of view that the design subtasks are similar, formulae for calculating the degree of similarity are derived. The case revision is performed by the knowledge based inference engine. The differences between examples and cases are analyzed, and case management is discussed. |
