Semiology and Its Significance in Linguistics

Starting with the historical stages of semiology,the paper discusses the origin,the features of each historical stage and the contribution that relevant people made to the development of semiology.Then it explores some basic terms,the objects of study and concepts in semiology,on which basis the author analyses the significance that semiology exerts in linguistics.The author argues that semiology and linguistics are closely related and the continuous perfection of semiology theory will definitely promote the further development of linguistics.
