摘 要: | 英语教育发展的动力在于社会和个体对英语能力的需求,而这种需求的大小取决于人们对于英语教学实践所蕴含利益的认识正确与否。受实用主义的影响,人们往往只关注英语教学实践的外在利益,忽视其内在利益。然而,内在利益的人文性较之外在利益的工具性更能体现英语教育的终极价值。确立“以人为本”的教学理念,努力促进“两种利益”的融合,无疑会更加有利于受教育者英语技能和人文素质的全面提升。

Abstract: | Motivation to develop English education lies in the demand on English proficiency by society and individuals,which depends on people’s correct attitude towards the implied interest in the English teaching prac-tice.Influenced by pragmatism,people tend to focus on the extrinsic interest of English teaching,ignoring its intrinsic interest.However,the ultimate value of English teaching is reflected by the humanity of intrinsic inter-est,rather than the instrumentality of the extrinsic one.The people oriented idea,together with the combina-tion of the intrinsic and extrinsic interests,will undoubtedly improve the educatee’s English proficiency and hu-manistic quality. |
