| Abstract: | Sports metaphors are commonly used in American discourses both in spoken and written language. With plenty of examples, this paper introduces the phenomenon from a cultural perspective, especially the use of sports metaphor in the business context. It also analyzes the relevant cultural backgrounds, which may help for the readers to communicate more effectively with the Americans. |
