Reasoning and development for rules-based testing expert system

This thesis introduces in detail the design and realization of each part of an entire expert system, connecting it to the concept of a rule-based system design. Special emphasis is put on the methods and technical know-how likely to be employed in the design and realization process. Such emphasized parts include the ideal expert system architecture, the multiple knowledge resources and dynamic knowledge base, the meta-control and two-level reasoning mechanism, the interpreting technique, the "blackboard" technique, as well as the knowledge self- maintenance device. The technical properties of the system are given. Considering its general applicability and high level of standardization, the system can be used as a tool to facilitate the development of a new expert system.
