A REVIEW ON GENETIC OPERATION IN LABORATORY ANIMAL SCIENCE

The laboratory animal science is a new science and genetics is a basic science among life sciences.This is a review article on the genetic test and operation in the laboratory animal science.The genetic standard of laboratory animals includs five different types: inbred strain animal,mutant strain animal,outbred stock animal (or closed colony), hybrid strain animal and mongrel animal. The monitoring methods on the hereditary quality of laboratory animals as follows= coat color gene testing, skin grafting testing, immunogenetic markers, biochemical gene markers,mandibular measurement and chromosomal bands analysis etc.
