Xiaogan City locates in the northeast of Hubei province,belonging to Chu dialect area.Its dialect is close to standard spoken language.Whereas difference exist.For example,the word "Ba" widely used in Xiaogan dialect,which can be used as verbs,prepositions,and in some sentence of Chuzhi(note:a kind of sentence structure in Chinese) and passive voice as well.The usages of "Ba" are greatly different from those in standard spoken language,and we always can find different corresponding usages in standard spoken language.All of these usages are from the same source.The character of "Ba" in Xiaogan dialect,bespeak its simutaneous difference in area,reflect the developing trace of linguistic history.To master the usage of "Ba" in Xiaogan dialect is of advantage to research the history of Chinese language and modern Chinese language.
