摘    要:以英汉对比语言学为理论指导,从英汉对比研究中的形合与意合,静态与动态这两个角度对胡允桓先生和姚乃强先生的《红字》译本进行对比研究。通过对上述两方面系统地比较研究,笔者认为姚的译著兼取“直译”和“意译”之长,在尽量贴近英语的表达方式的同时,又充分利用汉语的特点。最后,建议将英汉语对比研究成果应用于整个英语教学实践,帮助学生排除汉语负迁移的干扰,提高外语教学质量。

Abstract:This paper,based on the Contrastive Linguistics of English and Chinese,tries to make a contrastive study on the two Chinese versions of The Scarlet Letter respectively rendered by HuYunhuan and Yao Naiqiang from the following two perspectives,hypotactic vs.paratactic,stative vs.dynamic of contrastive studies of English and Chinese.Through a systematic comparison and contrast,the writer draws a conclusion that the Chinese version translated by Yao transcends over that one produced by Hu with a better mastery on the faithful,expressive and elegant expressions.In the end,the writer suggests that we should apply contrastive studies of English and Chinese in our EFL teaching practice to enhance teaching efficiency.
