The orbifold structure of weighted toric varieties

Toric varieties and orbifolds are important in both mathematics and physics with broad connections. Simplicial toric varieties are a family of orbifolds with nice structures. In this paper, the authors construct a family of orbifold by generalizing the correspondance between fans and toric varieties to the correspondance between weighted fans and weighted toric varieties. Then properties of weighted toric varieties and the orbifold structure of simplicial weighted toric varieties are discussed.
