Abstract:The ultrasonically enhanced photoeatalytic degradation of reactive dye with nano TiO2 was investigated. It was found that the sono photocatalytic reactor could effectively destroy the reactive dye. A high decolorization ratio of 100% with a COD concentration reduction of about 87.5% was obtained during 150 mm in the presence of both nano photocatalyst and ultrasonic. The results also show that the ultrasonically enhanced photocatalytic process is more efficient than the single application of ultrasonic oxidation or photocatalytic degradation, and an apparent syn- ergic effect in the COD removal efficiency as well as decolorization efficiency was observed by combining the ultra- sonic oxidation with photocatalytic process in the new-designed reactor.
