| Abstract: | This paper describes the application of the finite difference time domain (FD TD) method for obtaining the eigenvalues of TE and TM modes in waveguides with arbitrary cross sections,and gives a lot of numerical examples of the cutoff frequencies of the first and higer order modes in various waveguides. The numerical results agree very well with those published in the literature,thus the accuracy and efficiency of the method are justified. |
