| 摘 要： | 对约翰·福尔斯的《收藏家》这本书的研究视角多种多样，本文将从米兰达的美与克莱格的丑相抗争的视角来解读这部著作。米兰达是美的化身，她不仅有美丽的外貌，还有善良的心灵和智慧的头脑；而克莱格则闭锁、狭隘、丑恶。二者之间形成鲜明的对比。福尔斯在本书的结尾安排了另一个“M”的出现绝非无意之作。这隐含了作家深刻的人文思考：美与丑的并存与斗争是个恒久现象，丑恶最终是无法摧毁美好的。

| Abstract: | There are various points of view on the interpretation of John Fowles ’ the Collector. This paper will analysis the novel from the aspect of the battle and struggle between the beauty and the evil. Miranda is the embodiment of beauty. Being pretty, kind-hearted, she is also very smart. While Clegg is atresic, narrow-minded, and very evil. These two contrast each other sharply. It is no incident that another "M" ’s appearance in the end of the novel. This paper believes that it contains John Fowles ’ deep thinking of humanity: the coexistence of beauty and evil is permanent. The evil will never destroy the beauty. |
