Bioactivity analysis of the Ta (V) doped SiO2–CaO–Na2O–P2O5 ceramics prepared by solid state sintering method

The main objective of the study was to control the degradation rate of material at a higher degradation rate improving the chemical stability of the material. Ta is known to have good chemical resistance, biocompatibility and show no adverse biological response. In the present study, SiO2–Na2O–CaO–P2O5 bioceramics with different Ta2O5 contents was prepared by solid state sintering method at 1000 °C. The as-sintered ceramics were subjected to immersion studies in stimulated body fluid (SBF) for 21 days under static condition and characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM, and AAS. The findings of the research indicate that the addition of Ta2O5 controlled degradability, and all samples showed sufficient bioactivity.     

Proteolytic activity in the serum of rabbits during anaphylaxis

Zusammenfassung Während der Anaphylaxie des Kaninchens entstehen intravaskuläre Antigen-Antikörperkomplexe, die von den Leukozyten phagozytiert werden. Die in den Lysosomen (Granula) vorhandenen proteolytischen Enzyme werden dabei freigesetzt, und im Serum nachgewiesen.     

The antigenicity of sheep follicle-stimulating hormone

Résumé L'hormone folliculaire ovine (FSH) purifiée révèle la présence d'antigènes d'hormone lutéinare (LH) et de ceux du sérum ovin. L'antigène LH fait partie de ces derniers. L'absorption des antigènes d'antisérum de l'FSH avec le sérum ovin, élimine l'antigène qui accompagne ceux de l'hormone folliculaire ovine, de l'hormone lutéinaire et du sérum ovin. Ce fait suggère que le sérum ovin agit comme l'hormone lutéinaire. L'antisérum d'hormone lutéinaire est capable d'éliminer l'antigène d'hormone lutéinaire et les antigènes d'hormone folliculaire ovine. Cela signifie que l'un des andigènes du sérum ovin qui est présent aussi dans l'hormone folliculaire ovine, provient de l'hormone lutéinaire. Nos études en cours tendent à vérifier ce fait.
