Summary Pretreatment of donor lymphoid cells with cortisone has been shown to depress the T-cell subpopulation responsible for cellular proliferation in the GVH reaction. A quantitative assay as well as the histological criteria of the GVH reaction have been used in this study to demonstrate the presence of cortisone-sensitive T-cells within the Peyer's patches as well as in the spleen and mesenteric lymph nodes in the rat. This work was supported by a grant of the Délégation Générale à la Recherche Scientifique et Technique (No. 74-7-0619).  相似文献

Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) is a polygenic disease caused by autoimmune destruction of insulin-producing beta cells in the islets of Langerhans. Its onset is preceded by a long and variable period in which lymphoid cells infiltrate the pancreas but first remain outside the islets (peri-insulitis) before invading them (insulitis). Among susceptibility loci, only the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) has been clearly assigned. Genetic study of the nonobese diabetic (NOD) mouse model for insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus has revealed genetic linkage of insulitis and of early onset diabetes with two non-MHC loci mapping to chromosome 3 and 11 respectively. Here we report a close association of periinsulitis with a third non-MHC locus mapping to chromosome 1. Successive stages in the progression of diabetic disease thus appear to be controlled by distinct genes or sets of genes.  相似文献

Summary Anti-lymphocyte (ALS) treatment or adult thymectomy of the donor have been shown to depress respectively the cell proliferation and the cytotoxicity in the graft-versus-host (GVH) reaction. A quantitative assay and the histological criteria of the GVH reaction have been used to demonstrate that all the known subpopulations of T-lymphocytes involved in the GVH reaction are present in the Peyer's patches as well as in the spleen and mesenteric lymph nodes in the rat. This work was supported by a grant of the Délégation Générale à la Recherche Scientifique et Technique (No. 74-7-0619).  相似文献

We introduced the observations and researches using a Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) system with high precision, which was designed and made in China and installed in the Observatory of San Juan Uni- versity, Argentina, the capability of the system and the achievement of the cooperative procedure be- tween China and Argentina. The SLR station in San Juan, set up by China and Argentina, is quite sig- nificant for improving the distribution of SLR stations and enhancing the orbital coverage of the whole earth. Since the SLR system started to work in the Observatory of San Juan University in the beginning of 2006, the operation is rather good, and rich data with high precision have been obtained. Further plan of the cooperation for the near future is also presented.  相似文献

The M8.8 Chilean earthquake of February 27, 2010 caused a large surface displacement near its epicenter. Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) station 7405, cooperatively operated by Germany and Chile about 130 km from the epicenter was affected by the earthquake. Another SLR station, No. 7406, operated jointly by the National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and San Juan University of Argentina, was about 600 km from the epicenter. Combining the observations of these two SLR stations with global SLR station observations, we calculate the geocentric coordinates of the two stations based on ITRF2000. The results show that the coordinates of the two stations have changed by varying degrees. SLR-7405 moved substantially towards the southwest with displacements of about 3.11, 0.52 and 0.49 m in X, Y, Z directions; the corresponding displacements for SLR-7406 are about 0.02, 0.03 and 0.02 m. This solution, as an independent result derived from SLR observations, could provide an essential external check for other positioning techniques such as GPS.  相似文献

Approaching a state shift in Earth's biosphere   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Localized ecological systems are known to shift abruptly and irreversibly from one state to another when they are forced across critical thresholds. Here we review evidence that the global ecosystem as a whole can react in the same way and is approaching a planetary-scale critical transition as a result of human influence. The plausibility of a planetary-scale 'tipping point' highlights the need to improve biological forecasting by detecting early warning signs of critical transitions on global as well as local scales, and by detecting feedbacks that promote such transitions. It is also necessary to address root causes of how humans are forcing biological changes.  相似文献
