This essay aims at making a research on the college students’English learning development.Some useful and efficient methods and practice are introduced,to make teaching more effective and to help students learn better on the basis of the illocutionary language communicating model.Successful learning should be learner-centered and in real-life communication.It should be realized by both the instructors and learners.In this essay,according to instructor’s testing standard data,with listening,reading,translating learning guidance included,this illocutionary model and its application in college English teaching is discussed.  相似文献

Nowadays, educators from home and abroad believe that learning a foreign language means learning a great deal of the foreign civilization and culture. And the utmost goal of language teaching is to cultivate EFL learners’communicative competence, but not merely the linguistic knowledge. Thus, teaching a foreign language is more than teaching new words, expressions and grammar rules, but should also incorporate the target culture elements into language knowledge. In order to improve EFL learners’English proficiency, teachers must make efforts to cultivate EFL learners’intercultural competence and promote their sensibility and adaptability to the differences between Chinese culture and the Western culture. Only by doing so, can EFL learners communicate with native speakers appropriately and smoothly. This paper proposes some effective teaching techniques and methods that can be applied in English classroom to cultivate Chinese EFL learners’intercultural competence.  相似文献

Vocabulary is one of the three important parts of any language and it is also the cornerstone of any language.So the vocabulary teaching is very important in language teaching.Because vocabulary is stored in our mind in a semantic network,applying mind map to vocabulary teaching and learning can facilitate the activation of various semantic relations among words in the mind,which greatly promotes the learners’deep processing of vocabulary.Second,words are usually related to one another in the form of cohesions in the context.Constructing mind map of vocabulary in the text can make more noticeable the interrelations among words in the text,which will enhance the participants’language proficiency.The author of the present thesis attempts to prove that mind mapaided vocabulary teaching has a more positiveeffect on enlarging participants’vocabulary,though both approaches to vocabulary teaching have positive influence on participants’vocabu-lary growth.This study reveals that it is rational and feasible to apply mind map and Visual Thesaurus to college English vocabulary teaching and learning.  相似文献

Motivation to language learning is a complex set of variables including effort, desire to achieve goals, as well as attitudes toward the learning of the language. Individuals' motivation to second-language learning also includes their motivation orientations, interest in the second language, attitudes toward the second-language group, attitudes toward the second-language learning situations and second-language anxiety. Based on the basic theories and approaches, teaching activities are part of motivation in English classes. The teacher of language should have a good influence on students and develop students' keen interest in study in order to strengthen their intrinsic motivation, and set up some new goals for students to pursue and give the feedback to reinforce their inner drive and confidence. Secretarial English learners who will contact with many kinds of people may be required to communicate with people from other countries, intercultural communication is involved in their work in the future, they will meet cultural shock, make cultural mistakes if they learn nothing about it. In order to communicate cross-culture smoothly, they need to acquire cultural differences. But the face is that filling students head with knowledge (of language) almost become the whole thing, cultural differences is neglected in teaching and learning .The main source of their learning -textbooks have not presented materials of culture difference. The thesis analyzes cognitive mechanism of metaphor at first and finds that metaphor has strong cognitive power and that metaphor cognition has played a significant role in language development. Then the author thinks that language acquisition is also a kind of cognitive activity after discussing acquisition mechanism of English learners.
