《新视野大学英语》教材评价及其教学启示

摘    要:教材评价对大学英语教学具有重要意义。本文基于国内外教材评价理论及研究构建了大英语教材的评价模式,对外研社出版的《新视野大英语》编写和使用情况进行了系统的分析和评价。结果显示:该套教材提供了大量的语言输入,在内容设计和技能培养上都具有较高的实用性,设置的任务形式具有学习价值。但该教材在选材上的美国文化价值倾向、缺乏系统语法知识和翻译技巧的归纳、任务设置缺乏合作学习模式及交际性原则都是它需要改进的地方。

Abstract:Material evaluation is of great significance for the college English teaching in China.Based on the studies of materials evaluation both at home and abroad,this paper constructs an evaluation model for College English coursebooks under which the author conducts an evaluation on New Horizon College English(henceforth NHCE) published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.The evaluation result indicates NHCE generally meets the requirements proposed by the currently designed syllabus to develop students' capabilities comprehensively with its large amount of language input and tasks design of pedagogical values.However,the deficiencies of relatively-biased cultural orientation,lack of generalization of grammatical knowledge and translation skills,lack of cooperative learning model and communicative principle in task design need to be considered in how to make the most of this series of coursebook.
