| Abstract: | The Scarlet Letter is one of the most important novels made by Hawthorne.It has a background of the New England ruled by the Puritan of North America in the seventeenth century.It shows the persecution to the female under the colonial rule combined by church and state.This article tries to analyze the awakening of the feminist consciousness of the heroine Hester Prynne from the angle of feminism. |
