| 摘 要： | 近代早期是英国民族国家形成的重要阶段。民族国家需要通过文字(阅读)来构成民众的想象。印刷媒介与英语的结合对英国民族国家的形成发挥着重要影响,这主要表现在:英语宗教印刷品的大量印行;各类英语印刷文件进入国家政权运作体系;英语成为文化教育类印刷品使用的主要语言;以及促使拉丁语的地位逐渐衰微。总之,英语借助印刷媒介的力量成为了更加规范和丰富的语言,为民族国家的最终形成创造了有利条件。
