Abstract:The net photosynthetic rates(Pn),transpiration rates(Tr),water use efficiencies(WUE),intercellular CO2 concentration(Ci) and stomatal limited value(Ls) of Ferula ferulaeoides of original and introducing regions with LCPro+ portable photosynthetic system were studied.It was shown that the net photosynthetic rate of Ferula ferulaeoides of original regions was significantly lower than that of introducing regions,with daily mean values of 13.84 and 15.01 μmol/(m2·s),respectively and both of them showing double peaks with the phenomenon of"midday rest" at 14:00.The decrease of net photosynthetic rates may be caused by stomatal limitation by comparing Ci and Ls of Ferula ferulaeoides.The transpiration rate of Ferula ferulaeoides of original regions was also lower than that of introducing regions with daily mean values of 3.72 and 4.39 mmol/(m2·s),respectively.The water use efficiency of Ferula ferulaeoides of original regions was higher than that of introducing regions,with daily mean values of 3.89 and 3.73 μmol/mmol,respectively.The results indicate that the photosynthetic capacity of Ferula ferulaeoides of introducing regions was stronger than that of original regions,but the Ferula ferulaeoides of original regions could be more suitable for drought environment by decreasing stomatal conductance in order to reduce transpiration rates and increasing water use efficiencies in clear day.
