n this paper,the similarities and differences between value engineering and cost-effectiveness anaIvsis have been anaIvzed.It has been observed that thev are similar in oubject attribute,application purpose,method of thinking and basic principle,and they are different from each other in application characteristic,method of analysis,application level and opportunity.The relation between them has been reviewed,and the problems which should be paid attention to have been proposed.
