On the Importance of Timber in the Project Teaching Laboratory Course

This paper elaborates the history,the timber and the mortise and tenon joint structure of Chinese ancient furniture,points out that what kind of timber is used in furniture design is of great importance,and believes that the timber plays a significant role in the project teaching,and that getting familiar with the characteristics of various materials is the first step for students to be a furniture designer,and the project teaching laboratory course a compulsory practical course.
