The public space idea and its basic principles of urban waterfront planning

Aim To change the urban waterfront planning ideas and highlight the important role of the public space idea in the planning process,and emphasize that the urban waterfront planning should adhere to the basic principles of public space idea.Methods The research method of combining theory and practice are adopted herein.We pay attention to the analysis of the basic connotation and value implications of public space idea,and want to combine the principles of public space planning and the practices of operation specifications.Results The waterfront design that is dominated by public space can overturn the traditional planning idea which follows the Abstract space planning modes,as a result,this idea can expand a kind of concrete space planning mode,which will achieve the harmony relationship between humanity and nature,humanity and society,humanity and themselves.Conclusion The waterfront design that is dominated by public space will provide basic theory supports and basic principles for the ecological space and cultural space designing of contemporary urban waterfront.
