SOME PROBLEMS ON ECOLOGY AND PALAEOECOLOGY OF GASTROPODA

This paper comprehensively discusses the ecology and palaeoecology of Gastropoda.Author of the paper concludes thatthe bellerophontid Gastropoda had both ecological types,the neritic and the benthonic,the shell ornamentation is asensitive indicator of environments,the size of gastropod shell is also controlled with the living environments(if theenvironment is rich in food and is relatively stable,gigantic fauna of Gastropoda appears.If the environment isinnormal,for example,desalination of sea,the dwarf fauna may be emerged).This paper also deals with the feedingtypes of Gastropoda,including the carnivore,deposite feeder,parasite etc.
