摘    要:在三维表面建模过程中,通常会生成大量三角面片,使得实时渲染难度加大,因而需要对表面网格进行简化。基于二次误差测度的网格简化算法,利用多核平台的优势,提出一种并行策略来提高网格简化的效率。结果表明,多核平台优化后的并行算法比优化前串行的网格简化算法在效率上有明显提升,并且简化模型有较高的近似精度。

Abstract:A large number of triangular patches are commonly produced in the process of the three-dimensional surface modeling, which makes it difficult for real-time rendering. So it is necessary to simplify the surface mesh. In order to improve the efficiency of mesh simplification, a parallel strategy based on quadric error metric(QEM) mesh simplification algorithm was proposed which took the advantages of multi-core platform. Experiment results show that, comparing with the serial one, the parallel mesh simplification algorithm approximates original meshes more accurately, and with higher efficiency.
