Abstract:It is known that the interaction between extracellular matrix (ECM) and malignant tumor cells has important significance in the mechanism of tumor invasion and metastases and Fibronectin (FN) has long been identified as a major glycoprotein in the ECM. In recent years, many experiments have demonstrated that FN may promote the adhesion and migration of some malignamt tumor cells in vitro but such promotion in lung adenocarcinoma has not yet been reported. The positive results in this paper support the idea that FN plays an important role in tumor invasion. Tumor cells pretreated with soluble FN has no significant effects on cell adhesion and migration, indicating that soluble FN does not change much the tumor cell biology in this field. Results show that both chemotaxis and haptotaxis are involved in the complicated tumor invasion mechanism. Moreover, experiments may suggest the positive correlation between the intensity of tumor adhesion and migration and the degree of invasion.
