从加拿大民族决策的角度透视新移民的融合问题

就新移民如何调整自己的处境以便尽快被加拿大主流文化所接纳的问题,无论是加拿大政府部门还是理论界都有各自的看法甚或争议。试图从加拿大民族决策的角度对此现象加以剖析。加拿大政府在阐释该国的移民问题时通常采用＂融合＂这个术语,认为顺从主流文化的融合是新移民能够被东道国吸纳的最为理想的方式。然而从表面上看,加拿大的多元文化政策对那些坚持自己民族特色的新移民给予宽容的态度,实质上却将其排斥在主流社会之外。

On New Immigrants' Integration from the Angle of Canadian National Policy

As for the problem of how newcomers adjust themselves to mainstream culture,both Canadian government and theoretical circles have particular views even debates.This thesis tries to analyze this phenomenon from the angle of Canadian national policy.The Canadian government prefers the term ＂integration＂ in talking of immigration and believes that integration based on conformity with the mainstrecma culture is a desirable way by which newcomers will become members of the receiving society.Superficially,Canadian multiculturalism shows a tolerant attitude to those persisting their ethnic culture;practically,it drives them outside the mainstream.
