In the national movement of India, Muslim elite turned to communalism road that they thought of the communal interests at the first step. This was related to the Muslim social situation, the British policy of "dividing and controlling" and the Hindu communalism.After all, this resulted from the Muslim society lagged behind the whole Indian society, which exited not only in economical strength andpolitical power but alsoin the though of Muslim elite in whom the religious traditional put a great role.
