| Abstract: | Two analytical expressions of calculating the threshold gains and positions of longitudinal modes of a coupled-cavity laser are given by using a very simple approach of derivation. According to these two equations, the longitudinal mode characteristics of monolithic integrated GaAs/AlGaAs SCC lasers fabricated by the microcleavage technique are discussed in detail, and the results of the discussion are combined with the behaviors of electronic gain spectrum to study the measured lasing spectra of some devices. |
