通过东西部地区基础设施状况的对比分析，剖析了西部地区基础设施落后状况形成的历史原因，从连锁效应，空间效应，效率效应，选择性增长效应，超前制约效应等方面分析了基础设施供给对区域经济增长的作用。从协调性原则，布局和运作机制等方面提出了西部地区基础设施建设的战略性选择。

A Study on the Strategy of the Infrastructure Construction of Western

Through the contrast analysis of the existing conditions of infrastructures between the eastern and western regions in China, this paper analyses the historical causes of forming the backward conditions of infrastructures in the western regions. Also, this paper analyses the effect of the infrastructure supplies upon the growth in regional economy from several aspects including chain effect, space effect, efficiency effect, selective growing effect and leading constraint effect, etc. This paper suggests the strategic selection of infrastructures for the western regions from the viewpoints of coordinative principle, investment and financing systems, layout and operational mechanism, etc.
