基于小波变换的JPEG2000图像压缩研究

摘    要:在着重研究JPEG2000图像压缩系统基础上,分析了基于离散小波变换的压缩算法实现静止图像的压缩、编码、传输、存储等各种功能的机理;开发了JWlet实验软件,并采用Wlet软件对压缩图像进行了展示和评估,实验证明,基于小波变换的图像压缩系统具有渐进传输、感兴感区域编码,误差恢复等多种功能和很高的压缩效率。

Abstract:This paper focuses on the research of the image compression system of the international standard JPEG 2000 and analyzes how the compression algorithm based on the discrete wavelet transforms implements compression, coding, transmission and storage of still images. This paper also deals with the development of the JWlet experimental software and applies the JWlet software to make presentation and evaluation of the compressed images. It is proved that the wavelet based image compression system has many perfect features such as progressive transmission, region of interest and error resilience and etc. as well as considerable compression efficiency.
