| Abstract: | The article aims to discuss complements of English adjectives from the viewpoint of valency grammar. In the article distinctions between complement and adjunct or peripheral element has been roughly explored and the author has also enumerated five kinds of sentence constituents that can act as complement. Besides, the author has studied the subdivision of complement and the criteria for differentiating complement from adjunct. |
