Abstract:In order to meet the requirement of crack-technique, photoelastic method of experimental-dy- namics is employed to investigate the variation of stress of the samples which are geometrically unsymmet- rical before they commence crack. Besides, the variation of the stress within samples with notch is ob- served also. It is shown that the samples' stress is symmetrical at large when they are under the loading before they start to crack.
