| Abstract: | The mother-daughter conflicts described in The Joy Luck Club demonstrate the differences and contradictions between American culture and Chinese culture.Different geographical conditions,historical development process and social organizational pattern of the two nations are fundamental factors that cause the differences.The resolution of the conflicts expresses the writer's appeal to the harmonious coexistence of different cultures. |
