| 摘 要： | 纽马克认为翻译时信息总会有不同程度的丢失，而根据信息丢失的多少，我们可以断定习语译法的忠实程度的高低。在不引起误解的前提下，直译不仅复制了习语的修辞语义，而且复制了其字面语义和修辞手段，是忠实程度最高的译法。意译的忠实程度最低。

| Abstract: | Newmark thinks translation involves some kinds of loss of information.In this paper the authors compare the degree of faithfulness of different methods of translating idioms, among which literal translation is the method whose degree of faithfulness is the highest. It reproduces all kinds of information, that is, the rhetorical meaning, the figure of speech and the literal meaning of the source idioms. The degree of faithfulness of free translation is the lowest one. |
