现代汉语缩略语新论

由“非典”导入 ,对尚无定论的缩略语提出了新的定义 ,认为“语言表达的经济性原则”和“汉语词汇的双音化趋势”是产生缩略语的主要原因 ,“压缩”、“截略”、“统括”则是产生缩略语的主要方式 ,并进而论述了缩略语的特点和规范问题。

A New Approach to Abbreviations in Modern Chinese

Proceeding from the example of FEIDIAN (SARS), this paper proposes a new definition for the not-yet-defined abbreviations. It holds that the main causes of abbreviations are the principle of economy in language expression and the bisyllabic trend in Chinese vocabulary, and that the main ways to form abbreviations are condensing, clipping and generalizing. Then, the paper goes on to discuss the characteristics and standardization of abbreviations.
