| Abstract: | Idioms and allusions carries rich cultural connotations. Therefore, i n process of translation, the lack of enough knowledge of the two cultures will easily cause the inaccurate translation or mistranslation. This essay mainly dis cusses some examples of James Legge's inaccurate translation of the idioms and a llusions in Mencius, and also offers some modifications on them. |
