摘    要:词的表达形式与词义之间有时具有某种内在的联系,这就是词的理据性。词的理据可分为语音理据、形态理据、语义理据和词源理据。词源理据是语言发展和演变的一大特征,在一定程度上反映了语言的文化和历史。在英语语言教学,特别是词汇教学中,恰当地融入词源教学,可以加深对词的理解并渗透语言的内在文化。词源理据对英语语言文化教学具有重要意义。

Abstract:There are some intrinsic connection between word - symbol and its sense. This is called motivation. Motivation can be classified into phonetic, morphological, semantic and etymological motivation. Etymological motivation is one of the features of language evolution and development. To some extent, it reflects the cuhure and history of language. Therefore, in the language teaching, particularly in vocabulary teaching, learning of etymological motivation can strengthen both the understanding of the vocabulary and the input of its related culture. Etymological motivation plays a significant role in English language culture learning.
