| Abstract: | Climatic effects and their impact on the formation of winter monsoon circulation, induced by the removal of Eurasian snow cover, were studied, by using a nine level, perpetual January general circulation spectral model with R15 truncation. The results appear to indicate that the complete removal of Eurasian snow cover may noticeably weaken the intensity of general circulation system, especially the intensity of winter monsoon circulation and Walker circulation. An interpretation for mechanism of interaction between thermal and dynamical processes for the climatic effects of Eurasian snow cover was also proposed. |
