| Abstract: | This paper develops a mathematical model of the centerline macro segregation in the slab continuous casting of steel based on the mixture theory. An anisotropic permeability is incorporated in the present model. Through the numerical analysis of a typical continuous casting process, it is shown that the centerline macro segregation can be reasonably predicted using the model. |
