大量研究发现,在言语交际过程中,两性在交际角色的自我定位、交际行为举止、话题和语言形式的选择等方面呈现出不同的倾向:就交际态度而言,女性较低调、合作、更在乎对方的感受,男性则更积极、主动、乐于对谈话过程的操纵;就措辞而言,女性更礼貌、婉转,男性则顾忌较少、言语更直截了当;在话题选择方面,女性的话题较琐碎和生活情感化,男性的话题则更具竞争性和实用性。从社会和心理语言学的角度看,言语行为的这些性别差异可能与两性从小归属的亚文化群、两性所担任的社会角色以及两性希望树立起来的社会形象等方面的差异相关。

Social-psychological Causes of the Gender Differences in Speech Behaviors

It was revealed in many researches that in language communication,the male and the female demonstrate quite different inclinations in term of their own communication role,manners as well as their choices of topics and language forms.Viewed from socio-psycholinguistic perspective,these gender differences may be attributed to the distinctions between the sub-cultures in which the male and the female have been brought up.Their social roles and their expected social images are also different.
