| Abstract: | In a previous paper by Li Shoufu (1987), for general lineral methods for the numerical solution of nonlinear stiff initial value problems in a Hilbert space, a series of new important stability concepts, such as (k, p, q)-stability, was introduced and a weak algebraic stability criterion was established. In the present paper, we extend the research to multivalue multiderivative methods, the weak algebraic stability criterion is extended to this wider class of methods, which can overcome the drawbacks of the algebraic stability criterion for multivalue multiderivative methods pesented by Burrage in 1980. |
