On the Reliability of Dilsey

Dilsey is one of many black images created by Faulkner. She is both a true reflection of the author and the Christ incarnate. Pulling the collapsing family together with her great love, and embodying virtues such as perseverance, love and loyalty. The novel＇s implied author reflects and interacts with the real author. Faulkner himself views love, compassion, sympathy and sacrifice as the universal truth of human beings. Thus, sharing the same norms with the implied author, Dilsey is a reliable narrator.
