| Abstract: | Phrasal verb is the combination of a verb plus one or more adverbial or prepositional particles,functions as a single unit and is unanalyzable semantically.The wide use of the phrasal verb and the increase in its number are the distinctive features of modern English,which attracts the attention of linguists.The paper gives an overview of the researches on English phrasal verbs. |
