| Abstract: | The bathynotus elongatus (sp. nov.) described here were collected from the lower part of Kaili formation (lower-middle Cambrian) in Taijiang of Guizhou. The diagnoses of this new species are briefly given as fol- lows: Bathynotus elongatus (sp. nov.) Dorsal exoskeleton elongately ovate; glabella elongately conical, with a pair of glabellar furrows; palpebral lobe long, directed backward and outward; palpebral furrows deep; thorax of 13 segments, thorax axis wide, with a median node; pleurae narrow; size of pleural spines incr- easing regularly from 4th to 11th segment. pygidium semicircular, wi- thout pygidical margin. It differs from other species of Bathynotus in having long dorsal exoskeleton and glabella, posterior sections of facial surtures long, posterior lateral limbs big. |
